Cricketer Dhoni and Wife Sakshi to Launch Dhoni Entertainment with a Tamil Film

Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni are about to launch Dhoni Entertainment (DEPL) to foray into mainstream film production and their first feature is about to be a Tamil movie. The company was founded in 2019 and is focusing on starting various stages of production entertainment across distinct mainstream languages. The idea behind the company is conceptualized by Sakshi Singh Dhoni, who according to reports, is also the Managing Director of the company. The Tamil movie will be directed by Ramesh Thamilmani, who has also authored Atharva – The Origin, a new-age graphic novel. The cast and crew of the film will be announced shortly.

However, the initialization of Dhoni Entertainment was not so great! The company acquired the rights to a mythological sci-fi book and produced a documentary known as ‘Roar of the Lion’. It was a drama based on the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which returned to the 2018 edition of the IPL after serving a two-year ban. In a press release shared by DEPL, it was reported that Dhoni shares a very special bond with the people of Tamil Nadu, and hence, this triggered this decision to produce his first mainstream movie by tapping into the talents of Tamil cinema.

Besides Tamil movies, Dhoni Entertainment is also in talks with multiple filmmakers and scriptwriters to create and produce exciting and cutting-edge content across genres including science fiction, crime drama, comedy, suspense, thriller, and more. There are talks among critics that Dhoni Entertainment is about to bring a fresh perspective to the Indian film industry and might also trigger the commencement of new directors and filmmakers into the domain.
